Beigang is an agricultural town with fertile land and abundant water for various crops to grow. The Township mainly produces rice paddy, followed by sesame oil, peanut, garlic, horsebean, peanut oil and sugar cane. Chau Tien Temple of Beigang, a national 2nd class historic site, is known to the world. Every year, 5 million people visited the temple to worship and honor the goddess of the sea.
