It was located in central southern coast of Taiwan in the southwest of Yunlin County, next to Shueilin Township and Kouhu Tonwship. Beigang Township borders Singang Township and Lioujiao Township of Chiayi County to the southeast with Beigang Stream. To the northwest of Beigang are Shueilin Township and Yuanchang Township of Yunlin County. Surrounded by Beigang Stream, the Township occupies 41.4999 square kilometers and its shape extends from east to west. The area is flat and fertile with suitable amount of rainfall, which makes it an agricultural town. Currently, the Township has a population of 50,000 and the development of the sixth naphtha cracking plant in the area is expected to bring in more population.
